I am so excited. At our usual annual Fourth of July weekend barbeque we will be having a special guest: Uncle Ben. I was chosen to showcase Uncle Ben's products so I will be serving some new dishes. The dishes will feature the following NEW products from Uncle Ben's:
Uncle Ben's Boil-In-Bag Whole Grain Brown Rice
Uncle Ben's Natural Whole Grain Brown Rice
and
Uncle Ben's Fast and Natural Whole Grain Brown Rice
At the party, everyone gets a goodie bag, too, with one or even all three of the above new brown rice varieties from Uncle Ben's along with other goodies and coupons courtesy of Mom Central and Uncle Ben's.
I wrote this review while participating in a Kitchen Kickoff campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Uncle Ben's. Mom Central sent me a gift card and other Uncle Ben's items to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Happy Fourth of July Weekend to all!

Tomatoes 2010
Started my tomatoes indoors March 1, 2010.
Planted in larger 2 inch pots April 1, 2010.
Transferred to permanent 14 inch pots on patio May 1, 2010.
Varieties growing this year are Halloween colors, Black and Orange:
Brown Berry--my all time favorite
DeBarao Black--new this year
Black Krim--another fave
Black Prince--an okay flavor, great producer
Black and Red Boar--new this year, really looking forward to it
Russian Persimmon--great cropper, great flavor, look just like a Hachiya persimmon
Orange Russian--multi-colored oxheart with pink and yellow and orange streaks, sweetest tomato I have ever tasted
Golden Jubilee--nice compact plant and well-balanced tomato flavor
Barnyard--first year growing, orange roma type tomato with tangy flavor
Isis Candy Cross--first year growing, cherry tomato with rusty orange color
All are off to a good start. About 2 feet tall now.
